KSL News June 6, 2011 - Tiffany reads and colors with families at Living Planet Aquarium
SALT LAKE CITY -- Tiffany Berg, former Mrs. Utah 2007, read her newly-written book at the Living Planet Aquarium's "Something Fishy about Kids and Cancer" Monday morning.
The children's book, "If Cancer was a Fish I'd Throw It Back," describes different emotions a child may have toward cancer, using similes to get the idea across that they may experience fear, anger and other feelings as they cope with the disease -their own or a loved one's. Berg's husband died from cancer in 2009, leaving her and five children behind. Her experience led her to write this book as a way to provide the tools for other children to express themselves.

Headline: Children and Parents Color to Help Express Their Feelings About Cancer
Excerpt from Article: Tiffany Berg, author and motivational speaker, has released her first children's book, "If Cancer Was a Fish I'd Throw It Back." The 18-page, fully illustrated children's book takes the emotions brought on by a cancer diagnosis and exhibits them in a way a child can relate to. Berg, who is from Lehi, compares feelings of fear about cancer to monsters in the closet or wishing you could ignore cancer like you can a phone call or stomping it out like a big hairy spider. Children's emotional expressions are different than adult expressions, Berg said.
